upper petals rhodamine red with bright magenta base edges, and magenta-pink mid stripes becoming orange near the tips. Lower petals deep carmine violet with paler silvery mid stripes, more orange near the tips. Reverse of lower petals much redder than rhodamine-red upper petals, with orange mid stripes. Petals oblanceolate with pointed tips. Filaments and tubes very pale silvery magenta pink. Pollen creamy grey. Flower length 6.5 cm. Upper width 6 cm., lower width 5 cm. Tube length 3 cm. Ovary receptacle to 0.8 cm., five ribbed to angled, opaque amber green. Flowers reverse umbrella shape. Flowering late May to mid August (Australia). |
