| McM & H; 1995: 97, 104 & 108; Picture | the Australian 'Spectible' is possibly a spelling change on 'Spectabile' If this is the case, 'Spectible' might be an early Schlumbergera variety, possibly a UK import from Brazil. J.F. Horobin and A.J.S. McMillan both used S. 'Spectabile' as a pollen donor to S. orssichianna to create 'Hatherton Charm' (Horobin) & 'Bristol Queen' (McMillan). Several historic 19th & early 20th Century, solid and bicolor varieties with the 'Spectabile' nomenclature have been recorded. |
