flowers have elliptical petals with mildly tipped to rounded apexes. Lower petals are larger. Petal bases and throats are white suffusing mauve-pink in the centers and outer areas. Light color streaking is visible in the centers and upper portions. Tubes are white. Stamens are white on the lower half, pink tinted on the upper halves. A magenta-red style and magenta-pink stigma barely extends past the anthers. Ovary receptacle is ridged.
phylloclades average 3 acutely tipped, forward facing, medium size dentations per marginal edge. Areole notches are shallow to mildly steep. Thin, creamy white marginata type variegation trims the edges of most phylloclades. Some phylloclades exhibit a small, rudimentary, apical dentation. Variegation patterns are variable, like most variegates. Growth habit is semi-erect, becoming more pendant with maturity. 'Pinky Variegated' is thought to be a Hiroshi Mitsuhashi cultivar from Japan. This is waiting confirmation. Possibly the variegated form of 'Pinkie'.
