		striking red-orange to orange-gold petal apexes and edges suffuse to bright yellow centers. Throats and tubes are white. The ends of anterior petals are ragged with side margins curled under (quilled). Dorsal sides of upper petals display some bleed through of the corollary ring. Lower and basal petals are flushed rose red on their dorsal sides. Ovary receptacles are ribbed, purplish  pink. The quilled trait is not always expressed. Plants can exhibit normal flowers.
