pale rhodamine with rhodamine throat, reverse side of petals are rhodamine. Flowers are 4.5 cm. in length, 6 cm. in width. Long lanceolate petals are tapering to pointed tips. Frontal view petal count is 12. Pistil is pale rhodamine with 5 - 7 white stigma lobes. Filaments are rhodamine. Ovary is 1cm., 5 ribbed, mid to apple green on a funnel form to rotate shape.

E.B. Hoare Notes: B1-9thin purple edged phylloclades are mid to deep matte green with 3 - 4 smallish areoles per side. Crenations are not very pronounced. Bristles present in all areoles, especially the semi-rounded linear areole. Note: not the species R. gaertneri var. makoyanum of textbooks.
