upper petals deep carmine violet with paler rhodamine centers and silvery throats. Lower petals carmine with violet overlay and silvery reverses with orange midstripes. Flower length 7 cm. Upper width 6 cm., lower width 6.5 cm. Tube length 3 cm. Ovary receptacle 0.8 cm., four to five angled, opaque apple green. Reverse umbrella shaped flowers. Blooms late June to August (Australia). Note: 1) is darker on reverse with paler rhodamine face to upper petals than cv. 'Opal Hybrid'. 2) In comparison with cv. 'Red Elephant', it is much more two-tone with better color, being brighter with a pale rhodamine face to upper petals. Flower shape of 'Allegro' has more reverse umbrella uppers and more silveriness to the throats of upper petals.
