upper petals have pale silvery magenta throats suffusing cerise with magenta-pink to bright magenta sides. Lower petals have silvery magenta-pink throats suffusing cerise to deep cerise. Upper petals are lanceolate with pointed tips. Lower petals are lanceolate with with acute tips. Tube pale silvery magenta pink. Flower length 7.5 cm. Width 2.5 cm. Ovary receptacle 1 cm., faintly ribbed, pear shaped, dark green suffused deep reddish purple. Flowers are butterfly shaped (recurved petals). Flowering mid April to late May (Australia).
