	scarlet petals are oblanceolate (widest in the top half) with acute tips. Frontal view petal count is 14. Flower length is 4 cm., width is 5 cm. The 0.8 cm. ovary is amber hued with 5 ribs.

Phylloclades average 4.5 cm. in length, 2 cm. in width with 1 cm. long, yellow-grey bristles in linear areoles (apexes) giving a bushy effect. Segment edges are wavy with a red-violet edge in newer growth. Lateral areoles number 3 - 4 per side in deeper crenations.
