petals are orange vermilion with silvery throats. Lower petals are paler orange vermilion. Upper petals are elliptic with acute pointed tips. Lower petals are broad spatulate with cuspidate to obtuse tips. Tube is 3.5 cm., very pale silvery orange vermilion. Flower length is 8.5 cm. Upper width is 3 cm. and lower width is 5 cm. Ovary receptacle is 0.75 cm., faintly angled with two wings & areoles., greenish to opaque yellow green. Flower shape is bell to butterfly. Flowers mid May to late June in Australia. Much darker than cv. 'Dark Orange' which flowers at the same time.
