blooms are red violet with darker petal tips. Flower length is 4 cm., width 4 cm. Petals are oblanceolate with acute to pointed tips. Frontal view petal count is 14. A red-violet pistil has 4 large curling, white stigma lobes. Filaments are red violet, incurving to surround the pistil. Ovary is 1 cm., 5 ribbed, reddish amber on a star to funnel shape.

Segments have 3 - 5 areoles per side in small crenations. Yellowish white short bristles are located in lateral and linear areoles. Some segments are partially keeled.
