star-shaped flowers are pale, red violet mauve with darker center lines and reverses (Meier described them as pale carmine red). Flowers are 5 cm. in length and 7 cm. in width. Petals are obovate with pointed tips. Frontal view petal count is 13. Pistil is pale red violet with 5 white stigma lobes. Filaments are pale red violet becoming paler toward the anthers. Ovary is 0. 8 cm. yellow-green hue with 5 ribs. Each segment supports 1 - 4 flowers.
