blooms are pale reddish violet mauve with darker midline and reverse. Flowers are 5 cm. in length and 7 cm. in width. Petals are oblanceolate (widest above the midpoint) with acute tips. Frontal view petal count is 11. Pale red-violet pistil has 5 white stigma lobes. Stamens are deep red violet, paler toward the anthers. The 1 cm. pale yellow to yellow-green ovary is star-shaped with 5 ribs.

E.B. Hoare Notes: B1-1phylloclades are smallish, yellow green with a purplish edging and 3 - 4 areoles per marginal side. Light bristling occurs within shallow crenations. Apexes are linear to straight with heavy, nearly 1 cm. long, yellow-brown bristles. A slow growing, small plant, not as floriferous as cv. 'Prairie Rosea'. Original plant was purchased by Betty Winton from Mr. Atherton of Douglas Park, NSW. (hybridizer?)
