upper petals crimson rose suffusing silvery carmine-rose throats. Lower petals deeper crimson rose with faint carmine-rose centers at base of petals. Flower length 6.5 cm. Upper width 4.75 cm., lower width 4 cm. Tube length 3 to 3.5 cm. Ovary receptacle 0.6 cm., four ribbed, deep bronze green. Has fuller petals that give more of a reverse umbrella or bell shape than other buckleyi types. Note: does not have the two-tone color or tube shape of S. russelliana. 2) darker in color with better flower and petal shape than either S. x buckleyi 'FF', or cv. 'Holmesby Red' or 'Pale Pink'.. McM&H description: silvery carmine rose throat suffusing crimson rose; outer petals deeper crimson rose with faint silvery carmine rose, filaments very pale silvery violet, pollen whitish grey.
