large, dark orange-red flowers average 7.5 cm. in length, and a large diameter of 7 cm. The deep orange coloring is evident on ventral and dorsal sides of petals. Petals are elliptical with tips that are almost blunt. Tubes are pinkish white (probably temperature sensitive). Stamens are pinkish white with pale yellow pollen coated anthers. Style is deep red with a purple-red stigma. Receptacle is purplish red. Flower count is 1-2 per floral phylloclade. Flower buds are a purplish red.
