mailbox red. Flower length 3 cm. width is 3.5 cm.  Oblanceolate petals with acute tips. Frontal view petal count is 18. Pistil is magenta with 6 white stigma lobes. Filaments are bright magenta. Ovary is 1 cm. reddish green with 4 ridges.

Meier 1995: 21; E.B. Hoare Notes: B1-10narrow, elongated, matte green phylloclades are 5 cm. in length, 1.5 cm. in width with 3 - 4 faint areoles per side and a small rounded linear areole without bristles. faint bristling does occur in the new reddish growth.
